Critical Diseases Coverage (Cancer):
The insured must have a medical diagnosis of cancer or surgical intervention or medical treatment within the scope of this disease. In this case, the insurance fee is paid to the insured, if not alive, to the beneficiary, provided that the conditions specified in the policy specific conditions are met and surviving 28 days following the diagnosis or surgical / medical intervention. Critical diseases coverage starts after the 90-day waiting period (exemption).
Cancer: Malignant tumor that can be defined as the uncontrolled growth and spread of malignant cells and the invasion and destruction of normal tissue at the same time. This diagnosis should be supported by histological evidence of the presence of the malignancy and confirmed by an oncologist. Surgery, radiotherapy or chemotherapy should be required for cancer treatment.
The following cancers are excluded:
All tumors that are non-histologically malignant, pre-malignant, borderline malignant, low malignant potential or non-invasive, including but not limited to: Breast Carcinoma-In Situ, Cervical Dysplasia CIN-1, CIN-2, and CIN-3; Any lesion defined as carcinoma in-situ (Tis) or Ta in the AJCC Seventh TNM Classification;
Any melanoma with a thickness less than or equal to 1.0 mm and defined as T1aN0M0 in the AJCC Seventh TNM Classification;
All types of prostate cancer, except if histologically classified as Gleason score greater than 6 or progressed to at least T2N0M0 class in AJCC Seventh TNM Classification;
Any papillary thyroid cancer with a diameter smaller than 1 cm and histologically defined as T1N0M0 in AJCC Seventh TNM Classification;
Non-invasive papillary bladder cancer, histologically classified as TaN0M0 or lower in the AJCC Seventh TNM Classification;
Chronic Lymphocytic Leukemia under RAI Stage 3;
All tumors in case of HIV infection.
